27. 10. 2006. - The action named "Save grasslands & give spruces away" has started!!!

On Friday, the 27th November 2006, the remove of spruce sprouts from the Veliki Lubenovac grassland had begun, in order to prevent the grassland from being overwhelmed with agressive spruce sprouts which descend from the surrounding slopes.

24.08.2006., Thursday - the opening of the interpretive "Premužić Trail"!

After long preparations and extended drudgery, we will finally greet this fabulous day - the Premužić Trail is becoming an interpretive trail! The joint forces of the Park's employees, accompanied by the specialized firm from Senj, specialized for the implementation of such and similar tasks, have brought, fastened and placed all the interpretive tables which will transform the Premužić Trail into an interpretive trail, at least for the part of it which runs through the Northern Velebit National Park.

22.05.2006. - Celebration of the International Day For Biological Diversity

International Day For Biological Diversity was declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1993. Firstly, it was celebrated on the 29th December, the very day when the Convention On Biological Diversity took effect, but due to the excess amount of holidays at that time of the year, which caused certain organizational problems, the date was shifted to the 22th May, the day when the final text of the convention was made.

The inauguration of the Information Centre in Senj!

On the coastal, Senj branch of the Park, on Friday 21th, the opening of the new Information Centre took place. The Park's natural and cultural wealth, as well as its exquisite biodiversity and beauty were presented in a form of photos, videos, exhibits and sounds.
