03.11.2006. - Professional visit of the employees of the Northern Velebit National Park to the Nature Park Učka
On Friday 3rd November, the employees of the Northern Velebit National Park payed a visit to their colleagues in the Učka Nature Park. After a short introduction in the Park's quarters in the Liganj village, the sight-seeing of the interpretive trails and other Park's faicilities begun. We took a short walk on the "Slap" interpretive trail, which runs through plantations of the so-called "Lovran marrons" (a special, local type of chestnut), climbed the Vojak lookout (1401 altitude) and had a fabulous view over the Istrian peninsula, north Adriatic islands, Venice, Trieste, Italian Alps...
Afterwards, we proceeded our sightseeing with the interpretive trail "Plas" (the name's origin is unknown), which introduced us to numerous Park's natural values; the geological interpretive trail "Vela Draga" was also visited.
We did not forget to pay a visit to the information centre and the souvenir shop on the Poklon peak. During the lunch, various topics were discussed: the parks' business activities and the embedded problems, solutions to legal and judicial issues regarding property, management plans, educational programmes and similar.
We sincerely thank our colleagues on their patience and the efforts they made to organize this professional visit, and for all of you who want to know more about the Učka Nature Park, please click the following link:
